Expert tips

  • Water at the base of the plant with lukewarm water (avoid wetting the leaves).
  • Water every 10 to 15 days, or once a week if it is very hot. Avoid overwatering. Excess water is harmful to your plant.
  • Remove excess water from the saucer or pot cover. The delicate roots of orchids are like a sponge and can quickly rot if left in water.
  • Grow your orchid in a well-aerated specialty mix that allows water to pass through. A clear pot allows you to monitor the condition of the roots without removing your plant from the pot.
  • Always use the recommended amount when fertilizing.
  • Fertilize your plant during periods of active growth and after flowering to force a second flowering.

FAQ

We have simple answers to all your questions!

How do I know if my orchid needs fertilizer?

Orchids primarily need fertilizer during their growing period, in spring and summer. Schultz Orchid Liquid Plant Food promotes the growth of new, light green leaves, and roots with bright green tips. It also encourages flowering.

How often should orchids be fertilized?

Orchids are usually fertilized during their growing season, in spring and summer. They can also be fertilized after flowering to encourage the production of new blooms. With Schultz Orchid Liquid Plant Food, you fertilize every time you water. It couldn't be simpler!

How to make an orchid bloom again?

To bloom, orchids need indirect bright light (to avoid burning their leaves). They are fertilized during periods of active growth. However, continued fertilization can encourage a second flowering.

How can I tell if my orchid has received too much fertilizer?

An orchid that has received too much fertilizer may develop brown, drying leaf tips, or darker foliage. Its roots may also turn brown or have a scorched appearance. Our 7 drops formula eliminates all risk of overfertilizing. If you have used the correct amount, ensure your plant hasn't been overwatered and that you are providing all the conditions it needs to thrive.
